Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Originating in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses were able to save $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Every Pella® Product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. What does this mean for you? Not only could you find a decline to your heating and cooling bill, you will help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are all specifically designed and custom-built for your home, meaning no two projects are the same. Our wide range of products make it nearly impossible to discuss pricing without first understanding your needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it helpful to send out a Pella sales representative who can provide you with a quoted project price after seeing the project site itself. To speed up the quoting process, your Pella® sales representative is armed with a computer and a portable printer so that they’ll have all the quote information you’ll need—once the sales representative has a chance to consider the requirements of the project and aligns them with your vision.

In addition to offering a large range of high-quality products to pick from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you fantastic window and door products at affordable prices, offering you a chance to make the home improvements you want to while building great value into your Ketchum area home while you do it.

Can I paint my vinyl windows?

The advantage of Pella's® vinyl windows is that you don’t have to. You can choose the color your want. We do not advise painting your vinyl products, as this will terminate your warranty. Some paint manufacturers advertise that their paint can stick to vinyl, but it could destroy your windows if the wrong paint is applied or done incorrectly.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We recommend that you should use a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mixture or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also mix your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Apply the solution to a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not recommend glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based as they could form streaks or create a film that attracts moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses reliable installers who are certified to install Pella products. They must complete a rigid set of training courses so that your windows and doors are installed properly and meet Pella’s strict warranty criteria. We seek out the best Ketchum-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before they can be hired, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully covered by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your Ketchum Pella branch offers services and support that “big box” stores can’t match. Our specialty is selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and expert installers means that your project will have the expertise of our whole team. We like to use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. If you have any concerns, simply contact our office or your sales representative and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Ketchum homeowners select Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Pella is a privately owned, professionally managed company founded in 1925. All of our high quality windows and doors are manufactured with attention to detail and serviced by Pella’s unique Direct Sales Network. Unlike other manufacturers who sell exclusively through retailers, Pella has dedicated replacement window and doors showrooms throughout North America. This unique way of conducting business gives Pella clients in Ketchum a warm, personal experience with the assistance of a local to Ketchum, Pella-certified team. Whether you are looking for the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a superior quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
